Société de transport de Montréal (STM) is responsible for the provision of public transportation services on the island of Montréal, a region of 496 square kilometres with a population of nearly two million. STM operates a subway system with four lines covering 66 kilometres and a fleet of 1,668 buses servicing 191 routes.
