Balancing Pool

Balancing Pool is a not-for-profit corporation that was established in 1999 by the province of Alberta to help manage the transition to a competitive electricity market in Alberta. Its primary roles are to manage the financial accounts arising from the transition to a competitive electricity market on behalf of electricity consumers and to meet any obligations and responsibilities related to both sold and unsold pwer purchase agreements.
