DBRS Releases Updated Canadian Provincial and Municipal Methodologies

DBRS published updated versions of its methodologies titled “Rating Canadian Provincial and Territorial Governments” (previously titled “Rating Canadian Provincial Governments”) and “Rating Canadian Municipal Governments” (together, the Methodologies).

DBRS has conducted a periodic review of the Methodologies. These updates supersede the previous versions published in May 2018 and are effective as of today.

DBRS considers that coverage of the provincial methodology included Canadian Territories, and this has now been made more explicit. No material changes to either methodology were made. Accordingly, no ratings are expected to change as a result of this update.
