DBRS Morningstar Publishes Global Mortgage Insurance Methodology

DBRS Morningstar finalized its “Global Methodology for Rating Mortgage Insurance Companies.”

This methodology presents the criteria for which mortgage insurance company ratings are assigned and/or monitored globally.

The methodology supersedes the prior version published on December 13, 2019, and is effective as of January 13, 2021.

DBRS Morningstar deems the update to be material given the application of the methodology in new jurisdictions. However, DBRS Morningstar has determined that no ratings are expected to change as a result of this update.

All comments received during the request for comment period have been published to the DBRS Morningstar website, except in cases where confidentiality is requested by the respondent.
