DBRS Morningstar Discontinues Ratings on Husky Energy Inc.

DBRS Limited (DBRS Morningstar) discontinued Husky Energy Inc.’s (Husky or the Company) Issuer Rating and Senior Unsecured Notes and Debentures (the Senior Notes) rating. The discontinuation follows Husky’s amalgamation with Cenovus Energy Inc. (Cenovus; rated BBB with a Stable trend by DBRS Morningstar), subsequent to which Cenovus, the continuing entity, has become the obligor under the Senior Notes. Consequently, the Senior Notes are rated as Cenovus’s Senior Unsecured Debt. Concurrently, DBRS Morningstar has discontinued and withdrawn Husky’s Issuer Rating at the request of the Company. DBRS Morningstar notes that the discontinuation and withdrawal of the Company’s ratings are unrelated to Husky’s credit profile.
