DBRS Morningstar and Sustainalytics Post Webinar Replay on Exploring the Role of ESG Factors in the Fixed-Income Investing Process

DBRS Morningstar and Sustainalytics posted a webinar replay exploring environmental, social, and governance (ESG) risk-based research and the ESG credit analysis that is available to fixed-income investors.

The webinar was hosted by Jean-Claude Berthelot, Director for Corporate Solutions at Sustainalytics, joined by Andrew Lin, Managing Director at DBRS Morningstar. José Luis Blasco, Global Director of Sustainability at Acciona; Heather Lang, Executive Director for Corporate Solutions at Sustainalytics; and Jean-François Veron, Managing Director for Credit and ESG Rating Advisory at Société Générale completed the panel.

While mainstream investors with an equity focus are applying ESG considerations as part of their investment decision-making process, this webinar focused on how fixed-income investors are looking at ESG factors to assess corporate credit risk and bond selection, as well as adherence to socially responsible investment mandates of sponsors and other related activities. The webinar discussed the following questions:
-- How are fixed-income investors leveraging ESG information?
-- Do material ESG credit risks affect the financial profile of a company?
-- How are corporations using sustainability information as part of their strategy and transformation?

The discussion lasted approximately 60 minutes and was followed by an interactive question-and-answer session.
