DBRS Morningstar Discontinues Banca Carige’s Ratings Following Merger with BPER Banca

DBRS Ratings GmbH (DBRS Morningstar) discontinued Banca Carige SpA’s (Carige or the Bank) ratings, including the Bank’s BBB Long-Term Issuer Rating, as a result of the merger of the Bank into BPER Banca SpA (BPER). At the same time, DBRS Morningstar Withdrew Carige’s Support Assessment of SA1. Following the merger, Carige has ceased to exist as a legal entity, and as a result, BPER has legally assumed all the assets and liabilities of Carige.

Carige’s ratings were upgraded to the same level as BPER on July 28, 2022, following the acquisition by BPER.
