DBRS Morningstar Releases Q1 2023 Canadian Consumer Credit Indicators

DBRS Limited (DBRS Morningstar) released its review of consumer credit in Canada (the Consumer Credit Indicators) for Q1 2023. The Consumer Credit Indicators evaluate various types of consumer credit and their performance as well as additional metrics for the United States for comparison.

DBRS Morningstar updates the Consumer Credit Indicators quarterly, which include several key consumer-related performance metrics, such as the household debt-to-personal disposable income ratio, household debt service ratio, unemployment rate, household net worth, consumer insolvencies, personal saving rate, consumer credit growth and source of funding, and performance and losses of consumer-related obligations in securitizations, such as home equity lines of credit, credit cards, and auto loans. DBRS Morningstar will continue to review the contents of the Consumer Credit Indicators and may provide additional information in the future.
